While this predates the LLM era, it lays a solid conceptual basis for how we should approach intelligence and the limits of computer intelligence. Predating the hype cycle is precisely its value. Nothing in Act II requires it, but everything in Act II is easier with it, and it is the best starting point on AI for a general reader.
